Visualizing Every Boston Red Sox Season

Radial Chart of every Boston Red Sox Visualization. I collected the data from Baseball-reference.com and used Tableau to visualize. The length of the bars represent the Teams winning percentage in a particular season. Winning % was used to normalize, as number of games has changed over the years. Winning Season (Above .500) are represented by Red, and Playoffs/World Series Wins are represents by end nodes. Used a Background image to embed Boston Logo in the middle of the Viz, and Dual Axis to get the End Nodes mapped on Playoff/World Series Appearances.

The natural Circle of the Radial Chart breaks down all season into 4 Coordinates, each with summarized details regarding World Series (WS) wins and Playoff Appearances. Outlines The Red Sox early success (Including winning multiple WS during the beginning years of the franchise), and the downfall due to The Curse of the Bambino. Also details the Sox most recent 2 decades where success has been much more prevalent, with multiple Playoff appearances and 3 World Series Wins.
